PatentJuris (“PatentJuris”, “we”, “us”) provides patent document preparation, translation, and filing-support services for USPTO, EPO, and UKIPO applications. This policy explains what information we collect through our website and platform, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices available to you.

Information we collect

• Account information — name, email address, phone number, country, and preferred language when you register.
• Order and document content — the patent-related documents you upload, service selections, order status, and any notes exchanged with our team while an order is being prepared or translated.
• Payment records — order amounts, currency, provider transaction references, and payment status. We do not store full card numbers or bank credentials ourselves; card payments are processed directly by our payment providers (see “Payment processors” below).
• Support communications — messages you send through the in-dashboard support system or the contact form.
• Site usage — first-party, self-hosted analytics: an anonymous device identifier (stored in a cookie), the pages you visit, referrer/campaign information, and coarse device/browser/OS category. See our Cookie Policy for details.

How we use this information

• To prepare, translate, and deliver the documents you order.
• To process payments and maintain accurate billing and invoicing records.
• To respond to support requests and send order/account notifications.
• To operate, secure, and improve the platform, and to understand site traffic.
• To comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use third-party advertising tracking scripts on the site by default.

Sub-processors we use

The following third parties process data on our behalf, strictly to deliver the service:

• Supabase — database hosting, authentication, and encrypted file storage for uploaded documents.
• Document translation engine — processes the text of documents you submit for a translation service.
• AI assistant provider — powers the optional in-dashboard assistant for platform and order questions. The assistant does not provide legal advice.
• Payment providers — Stripe, PayPal, Wise, Skrill, and RedotPay, depending on which payment method you choose, handle the actual transfer of funds.

Confidentiality of your documents

We understand that patent filings often relate to unpublished, commercially sensitive inventions. Uploaded documents are stored in access-controlled storage and are only accessible to you, your authorized team members (for firm/company accounts), and PatentJuris staff directly involved in preparing your order. PatentJuris is a document preparation platform, not a law firm, and does not provide legal advice or represent applicants before any patent office.

Data retention

We retain account, order, and payment records for as long as your account is active and for the period afterward required to meet our accounting, tax, and legal obligations. See our Data Retention Policy for specifics.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or request deletion of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below — we will respond within a reasonable timeframe and explain any limits (for example, records we are legally required to keep).

Security

We use industry-standard safeguards — encrypted storage, access controls, and encrypted credential handling for third-party integrations — to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we encourage you to use a strong, unique password on your account.
