Data Retention Policy

Last updated: August 2026

This page explains, in plain terms, how long PatentJuris keeps different categories of your data and how deletion works.

Account and order records

We keep account and order information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to support order history, invoicing, and dispute resolution. If you close your account, order records are marked as deleted in a way that removes them from normal use while preserving the underlying financial trail we're required to keep — see “Financial and payment records” below.

Uploaded documents

Documents you upload for an order are retained while the order is active and for a period afterward so you can re-download completed work and we can support any follow-up requests related to that order. You can request earlier deletion of specific documents by contacting us; some documents may need to be retained longer if they're part of an active dispute, support case, or legal obligation.

Financial and payment records

Payment, invoice, and transaction records are kept for the period required by applicable tax, accounting, and financial-recordkeeping law — typically several years — regardless of whether your account is later closed. This is a legal obligation, not a platform preference, and applies even to records tied to a deleted order or account.

Support and contact messages

Messages sent through the in-dashboard support system or the contact form are retained long enough to resolve your request and to maintain a record of prior support interactions, after which they may be deleted as part of routine data hygiene.

Analytics data

First-party visit analytics (see our Cookie Policy) are anonymous and not tied to your account identity. We periodically age out older analytics data as part of routine maintenance.

Deletion requests

You can request deletion of your personal data at any time through our contact form. We will delete or anonymize what we can, and explain which records (if any) we're legally required to keep and for how long, consistent with the categories above.
