Cookie Policy
Last updated: August 2026
PatentJuris uses a small number of cookies to keep the platform working and to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used. We do not run third-party advertising trackers or cross-site tracking scripts by default.
Cookies we use
- Authentication session cookies — set when you log in, so you stay signed in as you navigate the dashboard. Strictly necessary; the platform cannot function for logged-in users without these.
pj_aid— a first-party, randomly generated identifier used by our own self-hosted analytics. It lets us tell new visits from returning ones and attribute a visit to the campaign or referrer that brought it in. It does not contain your name, email, or any personal identifier, is not shared with third parties, and is not used for cross-site tracking. It is httpOnly (not readable by page scripts), lasts up to two years, and is only set on the public site — never on admin pages.
What our analytics collect
Alongside the pj_aid identifier, our analytics record the pages you visit, the referring site or campaign parameters (if any), and a coarse device/browser/operating-system category. We do not use canvas fingerprinting, font enumeration, or other fingerprinting techniques.
Third-party cookies
If you pay by card or PayPal, our payment providers may set their own cookies during the checkout process to prevent fraud and complete the transaction — those are governed by the respective provider's own privacy and cookie policies, not this one.
Managing cookies
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking the authentication cookie will prevent you from staying signed in; blocking pj_aid has no effect on your ability to use the platform — it only affects our own visit analytics.
Changes to this policy
If the cookies we use change materially, we'll update this page and the “Last updated” date above.
